She conjures another self,
from the aliveness around her and within her.
Together, they take flight,
lifted up on a wave,
not of her making.
But it is her wave to ride.
Neither of them know when it will break upon another shore, but they feel the swell and speed, the motion and the power swooping them up and onward…..
And so, I prepare for my sojourn to India, via Seattle, Hawaii and on westward. I’ll land in New Delhi briefly, then will fly to Udaipur, where I will be volunteering with STEP (Social Tourism Empowers People). I shall live at the home-center they provide, and meet another traveling comrade, Karen Shilitto, who I’ve only met on SKYPE so far. She’s a Canadian woman just a few years younger than me, who’s been working with these people each year for several months for the last four years. She has traveled extensively in India over these last few years, so she will be a helpful guide and resource for me as I get oriented there.
I shall breathe life into this blog with fairly regular posts, as I am inspired by people I meet, things I’m exposed to, and whatever seems worthwhile to share.
Of course, the Traveler Deck will be launched JUST before I head out, so there may be some comments and conversations about that too here. We shall see how this all progresses!

Thanks for the comments. I think you’re talking about the Conjuring image…that is actually an encaustic – one of the first three I’ve ever done. They’re fun to do for sure. I look forward to doing more upon my return.
